Armenian State Symphony Orchestra closes 20th anniversary season with major open-air gala

(Horizon Media / YEREVAN) — The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra concluded its 20th anniversary concert season on July 21 with a large-scale open-air gala at the Cafesjian Sculpture Garden of the Cascade Complex in Yerevan.

An estimated 13,000 people attended the festive evening, turning the landmark venue into an expansive outdoor concert hall. Conducted by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan, the orchestra performed celebrated works from the classical repertoire, along with selections from several of its best-known musical projects.

The gala highlighted the orchestra’s ability to make symphonic music accessible to broad audiences and brought together thousands of residents and visitors in the heart of the Armenian capital.

The event followed another major success during the anniversary season. On April 14, more than 7,000 spectators attended the orchestra’s concert with internationally renowned pianist Lang Lang at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex.

With its anniversary season now complete, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra is preparing for a new programme featuring additional projects, international collaborations and new musical initiatives.

GTB Holdings served as the general partner of the orchestra’s 20th anniversary concert season.
