Turkish nationalist who killed Russian pilot challenges Moscow –

Turkish nationalist Alparslan Çelik, who had killed the pilot of the Russian warplane which Turkey had shot down in Syria in November 2015, admitted that only Turkey assists their detachments in every way, in their fight against the Syrian government forces.

Çelik, speaking to Vatan daily newspaper of Turkey, also challenged Moscow saying Russia strikes only from the air, whereas he wants to respond to Russia on the ground.

Alparslan Çelik is a member of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) of Turkey.

And the aforesaid detachments were the ones which had occupied Syria’s predominately Armenian-populated town of Kessab, in Spring 2015.
