UN: Armenia’s population will decline to 1,8 million by 2100 –

 

ARMENPRESS – Garik Hayrapetyan, Assistant Representative of UNFPA (UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund) Armenian Office informed that Armenia’s population will decline to 1.8 million by 2100, according to a newly released United Nations data. “The forecasts presented recently by the UN gave rise to numerous discussions”, said Garik Hayrapetyan.

 Garik Hayrapetyan also noted that Azerbaijan’s population will be 9,5 million instead of today’s 9,7. “Iran and Turkey will be the countries with the greatest number of population in the region. There are about 3 million people in Armenia today”, informed Garik Hayrapetyan.
