Pashinyan, Aliyev expected to attend Board of Peace summit in Washington

(Horizon Weekly) – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev are expected to attend an upcoming Board of Peace summit in Washington, according to RFE/RL, citing sources in Washington.
Sources indicate that both leaders plan to travel to the U.S. capital on February 19 to attend the meeting, which is being organized under the auspices of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Earlier, Axios, citing American diplomats, reported that the summit agenda is expected to include discussions on a possible second phase of a Gaza ceasefire agreement and initiatives to secure funding for regional reconstruction.
Armenia participated as a founding member in the first Board of Peace meeting, held on January 22 in Davos. During the inaugural ceremony, representatives of participating states signed the Peace Council Charter in the presence of the U.S. president.
Alongside Armenia, the signing ceremony included representatives from the United States, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Morocco, Pakistan, Qatar, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Israel.
