ARF Lebanon Central Committee anounces Parliamentary Candidates
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Central Committee of Lebanon issued an announcement today regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled to take place in May across the country.
The candidates are Hagop Bakraduni (Metn region), Hagop Terzian (Beirut), Alexander Matossian (Beirut) and Serge Choukhadarian (Beirut).
Lebanon’s parliamentary elections are slated for May 6.
Competing for the 128 parliamentary seats are 976 candidates, including 111 female candidates.
The 128-seat parliament includes 64 Christians apportioned among seven denominations, and 64 Muslims, including equal numbers of Sunnis and Shi’ites. The country is divided into districts that each vote for multiple lawmakers according to strict religious quotas.
Lebanese abroad would be able to vote on April 22 and 28.
