Ontario Premier Doug Ford has issued a statement on the 109th anniversary of Armenian Genocide.

Warm greetings to everyone solemnly marking the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

Today, we remember the strength and bravery of the Armenian people and honour the memory of those who perished during this dark chapter in human history. In remembering, we ensure that present and future generations reject hatred, intolerance and injustice in all its forms.

Many thanks to the Armenian Genocide Commemoration Committee of Toronto for working to ensure that we never forget this crime against humanity. Together, we can build a better world where no one suffers discrimination and persecution based on their race or religion.

Our thoughts are with you during this meaningful remembrance.
