9,017 people applied for citizenship in Jan.-Sept.


 

93,519 people received biometric passports from January to September in Armenia, head of passport and visa department of Armenian police Misha Sardaryan told reporters in Yerevan. 

100, 879 old passports were printed during the nine months of this year, as compared with 344,919 last year, he said.

“In the same period, 9,017 people applied for getting citizenship, of them, 5,500-6,000 were Syrian and Lebanese Armenians. 1,668 people applied for stopping citizenship. Most of them were from Russia and European countries,” noted the official.
