Opposition MP says Artsakh war report reveals government’s ‘incompetence’

MP Gegham Manukyan of the opposition Hayastan faction has renewed his criticism of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government, claiming that the parliamentary inquiry report on the 2020 Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war reveals evidence of “incompetence and possibly deliberate decisions” that led to Armenia’s defeat.

After reviewing the classified document, Manukyan said on Thursday that many of the report’s conclusions contradict the government’s official narrative and expose “strategic, personnel, and analytical failures” during the war.

He accused the inquiry commission of being a “government show” designed to whitewash Pashinyan’s actions, adding that the final report lacked signatures of some ruling Civil Contract party MPs involved in the commission.

Manukyan announced plans to submit several inquiries to law enforcement agencies based on his findings, stressing that the report raises “serious questions” about the government’s wartime decisions and accountability.
