Mother See: Court joined authorities’ anti-Church campaign

The Mother See issued a statement denouncing the decision to prolong the detention of Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, saying that “the court, instead of administering justice, has clearly joined the anti-Church campaign initiated by the authorities.”

“On September 2, in blatant violation of law and justice, the detention of His Grace Archbishop Mikael Adjapahyan was once again extended.

It is evident that the court, rather than delivering justice, has shamefully assumed the role of persecuting clergy and supporters of the Church, aligning itself with the authorities’ anti-Church campaign.

These unlawful and discriminatory practices must end, and Archbishop Adjapahyan, along with others imprisoned under false charges, must be released immediately,” the statement said.
