EAFJD raises concerns over rising tensions in Northern Syria

(Horizon Weekly) – The European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) has expressed deep concern over escalating tensions in Aleppo and in the northern and northeastern regions of Syria, citing growing instability in the area.
In a statement, EAFJD President Kaspar Karampetian warned that recent developments, including armed clashes between government forces and Kurdish units, have further strained the situation. He said that external interference, particularly by Turkey, is undermining efforts to restore national cohesion and prolonging instability in the country.
Karampetian emphasized that internal unity remains essential for rebuilding Syria and stressed that constructive dialogue, respect for civil rights, and adherence to international law are necessary for achieving lasting peace.
The statement called on all parties to refrain from the use of force and to engage in dialogue aimed at ensuring equal civil and cultural rights for all Syrian citizens. While noting that some positive steps have been taken, the EAFJD urged their full implementation and encouraged efforts to resolve disputes peacefully.
