Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre extends warm wishes to Armenian community on Armenian Christmas

(Horizon Weekly)— Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and the Official Opposition, released a statement today recognizing Armenian Christmas, celebrated on January 6 by Armenian Christians around the world.

In his statement, Poilievre paid tribute to the deep traditions and rich heritage of the Armenian people, calling them “the heirs of the first Christian kingdom.” He reflected on the enduring faith and cultural resilience that have sustained Armenian communities through history.

“For millennia, Armenians have drawn inspiration from faith and traditions which sustained them through good times and bad,” Poilievre said. He acknowledged the challenges many Armenian families face today — especially those living far from their ancestral homelands in Nagorno-Karabakh or in countries affected by conflict and upheaval.

“For them, and for all those celebrating today, may this radiant holiday bring comfort, hope and peace,” he added, extending warm Christmas greetings to the Armenian Canadian community. Poilievre also recognized the incredible contributions Canadians of Armenian heritage have made across the country, wishing the community a very merry Christmas.
