Azerbaijan destroyed 19th-century Armenian church in Artsakh

Azerbaijan has destroyed most of the 19th-century church of Tandzatap in the Kovsakan district of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

Satellite imagery shows that between October 5, 2023, and April 30, 2024, the church sustained major damage, Caucasus Heritage Watch reported.

“Most of the roof has collapsed, as has the southern wall which featured an embedded stone engraved with a cross,” CHW said.
