Armenia’s former foreign minister slams FM Mirzoyan’s speech at OSCE meeting
Vartan Oskanian, Armenia’s former foreign minister, deplored Ararat Mirzoyan’s remarks at the 31st OSCE Ministerial Council in Malta.
In a live video on Facebook on Thursday, the diplomat criticized the Armenian foreign minister’s tone and failure to raise critical issues for Armenia.
“Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan seemed to be begging for peace in his speech at the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Malta,” Oskanian said.
“There was no mention of Azerbaijan’s violations of Armenia’s territorial integrity, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, the destruction of Armenian cultural heritage, or the unlawful detention of Armenian prisoners of war and Nagorno-Karabakh’s military and political leadership,” the diplomat underscored.
He called attention to Azerbaijan’s use of platforms like UNESCO to allege threats to “Azerbaijani heritage” in Armenia and efforts to advocate for the return of so-called “Western Azerbaijanis” to “their homeland” referring to modern-day Armenia.
