Armenia to spend over $1.7 billion on defense in 2025 – Minister

The Armenian government intends to spend over $1.7 billion on defense in 2025, Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan said during budget discussions in the National Assembly.

According to the Minister, the defense spending will exceed the 2024 expenditures by 20%. As a result, defense expenditures will amount to 6% of GDP.

The Finance Minister also noted that in 2024, the country will record economic growth at the level of 5.8%, and is expecting to register 5.6% in 2025.
