(Horizon Media / YEREVAN) — Armenia will host the annual “Eagle Partner 2026” military exercises from June 17 to 25, bringing together Armenian forces and troops from three NATO member states.
According to Armenia’s Ministry of Defence, the drills will focus on preparing for international peacekeeping missions, improving interoperability between participating units, and exchanging best practices in command, control and tactical communication.
A total of 343 service members are expected to take part in the exercises. Armenia will be represented by 250 troops from its peacekeeping brigade. The United States will send 58 personnel from U.S. Army Europe and Africa and the Kansas National Guard, while France will contribute 24 troops and Greece 11.
The exercises will include training related to the preparation and execution of peacekeeping tasks. Armenia’s Defence Ministry said such joint drills are regularly held as part of preparations for international peacekeeping operations.
This year’s Eagle Partner exercises mark a notable expansion of Armenia’s military cooperation with Western partners. The drills follow previous Armenia-U.S. bilateral cooperation under the Eagle Partner format, which began in September 2023.
The participation of U.S., French and Greek troops comes as Armenia continues to broaden its defence partnerships and deepen cooperation with Western security structures, particularly in peacekeeping and international military training.
