ARF to hold protest in demand of Armenian prisoners’ release outside UN office

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) plans to hold protests outside the UN office in Yerevan, as well as the U.S., Russian and French Embassies, to demand the release of Armenian prisoners illegally held in Azerbaijan.

The protests are scheduled to be held on 1 November ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku.

“We cannot talk climate justice without human justice and protection of human rights,” the ARF said in a statement on Tuesday, adding COP29 is used by the Azerbaijani genocidal petro-dictatorship as a greenwashing tool.

“We are going to demand participants of the conference to put pressure on Baku to ensure the release of all Armenian prisoners, incluidng Artsakh’s military and political leaders, illegally detained in Azerbaijan,” reads the statement.
