On November 11, members of the Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC) Western Region and the Armenian Relief Society (ARS) Vancouver “Araz” Chapter took part in Remembrance Day ceremonies held across British Columbia — in Vancouver and Maple Ridge.
In Vancouver, ARS Vancouver “Araz” Chapter representative Ungh. Clara Kassabian Agopian attended the ceremony as part of the NATO Association of Canada delegation.
During the commemorations, ANCC representatives engaged in meaningful discussions with federal, provincial, and municipal officials present at the events.
On behalf of the ANCC, Vahe Andonian met with Canadian Member of Parliament Mark Dalton, providing a briefing on key issues of concern to the Armenian-Canadian community — including the ongoing so-called “peace agreements” between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the fate of the indigenous Armenians of Artsakh and their right to return to their ancestral homeland, as well as the uncertain situation of Armenian political prisoners held in Azerbaijani prisons.
