ANC Québec members interview with Laval Families Magazine TV show
(Laval Families Magazine) The June 11th edition of the Laval Families TV Show is dedicated to the Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide. Hosts Sammie-Line & Luigi welcome Aram Elagoz – Candidat à l’investiture – Mouvement Lavallois and Hrag Jinjinian from the Armenian National Committee of Québec.
They talk about the tragic persecution of the minorities in the Ottoman empire at the end of the 19th century and shed light on the first Genocide of the 20th century “The Forgotten Genocide: the Armenian Genocide” when the Ottoman empire, using WWI as an excuse, massacred, deported and starved to death more than 1.500.000 Armenians by forcing children, women and men out of their homes and lands to perish in the Syrian desert Deir Zor.
Coming back to present times, they say how this barbaric act did not serve its purpose because the Armenian people overcame this trauma, survived, persevered and thrived. They grew stronger around the world and have been fighting for the past 102 years to have official recognition from Turkey.
