Brantford Armenians Commemorating The Centennial of the Armenian Genocide at Grace Anglican Church –

On Saturday, April 25th, 2015, the Armenian Community of Brantford (Ontario, Canada) commemorated the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide at Grace Anglican Church. A brief church ceremony, lead by Father Harold Nahabedian (Anglican Armenian Priest from Toronto) and Rev. Canon Janet Griffith (Rector of Grace Anglican Church) with the participation of Fr. Keghart Kosbakian (Pastor of St. Nishan Armenian Apostolic Church of Southern Ontario), was followed by a one-woman-play, performed by actress Paula Grove, who was also the author of the play entitled “There was and there was Not”.
Preceding the play, the Honourable Phil McColeman (MP of Brantford) and His Worship Chris Friel (Mayor of Brantford) were invited to say a few words on this occasion, both of whom expressed their support to the cause of the Armenian Genocide and emphasized the importance of educating people and especially the young generation in order to prevent similar tragedies from happening in the future.
A luncheon was followed, prepared by the local Armenians. Representatives from Cambridge Armenian Community were present in support of the event.
