AYF Canada officially endorses Ohannes Tufenkjian as the Liberal party of Canada candidate in Vimy –

Laval, QC – The Armenian Youth Federation of Canada (AYF Canada) will be officially endorsing Ohannes Tufenkjian as a candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada nomination in Vimy.

As firm believers in the values of democracy and as proud Canadian citizens, members of AYF Canada believe that the political involvement of Armenian-Canadians is vital for a democratic and multicultural society. Ohannes has been an active member of the Vimy community for several years. He has shown great dedication through various leadership roles and has served the Liberal Party of Canada for over two decades. As an organisation that represents the Armenian-Canadian youth, AYF Canada and its membership sees this dedication and experience as a vital attribute in their role models, leaders and especially in their public servants.

 “Just recently, we celebrated the ninety-first anniversary of the arrival of the Georgetown Boys, a group of orphaned Armenian genocide survivors, which Canada embraced with open arms. It is a great honour to see an experienced Armenian-Canadian professional not only giving back to his Armenian community, but also giving back and serving the country that supported and gave new life to his ancestors decades ago.”, said Daron Keskinian, chairman of AYF Canada. “We hope that Armenian-Canadian youth follow in Ohannes’ dedicated footsteps by serving their greater community and actively engaging in politics to bring about positive change in society”.
