Armenian National Committee of Laval to support Ohannes Tufenkjian as candidate for the Federal Liberal nomination race in Vimy, Laval –
The Armenian National Committee of Laval (ANCL) is pleased to announce that it is officially endorsing Ohannes Tufenkjian as an aspiring candidate for the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) nomination race in the newly defined federal riding of Vimy in Laval
As vice-president of the “Comité conjoint lavallois du monument du génocide arménien (CCLMGA)”, whereas he was the representative of the Armenian Catholic community of Laval, Ohannes was undoubtedly the key person to ensure the success of this very important endeavour.
“Hovig’s dedication to the armenian community, his leadership, his integrity and his experience in political campaigns, combined with his engaging personality make him the ideal candidate to run for the Liberal nomination in Vimy,” stated ANCL Chairman Mr. Zareh Dervichian, “We encourage everyone to fully support Hovig’s candidacy for the nomination race.”
Last year, the Liberal Party of Canada announced that open candidate selection contests would be held in all 338 federal riding associations across Canada, including the federal riding of Vimy in Laval. The Armenian National Committee of Laval would like to take this opportunity to remind the Community that candidates are chosen based on a majority of members’ votes cast in favour of a candidate during a nomination meeting.
The ANCL is firmly committed in endorsing candidates that are well qualified and capable of representing the interests of the Canadian Armenian community.
The ANCL is part of the largest and most influential Canadian-Armenian grassroots human rights organization. Working in coordination with ANCC and its network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout Canada and affiliated organizations around the world, the ANCL actively advances the concerns of the Canadian-Armenian community on a broad range of issues.
