Sen. Markey demands Azerbaijan’s immediate release of Armenian prisoners

.S. Senator Ed Markey demanded Azerbaijan’s corrupt Aliyev regime immediately release former Artsakh leaders, Armenian POWs, and civilian detainees — held hostage in direct violation of international law — in a powerful speech on the Senate floor on Tuesday, the ANCA reported.

Sen. Markey is a lead author of S.Res.540, which requests information from the State Department on Azerbaijan’s human rights abuses both within the country as well as during its sustained military assault against Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), pursuant to Section 502B(c) of the Foreign Assistance Act.
