Population census in Armenia to be conducted in October

On October 13-22, Armenia will hold a census to count every resident in the country.

Electronic questionnaires will be used for the first time. The census will last 10 days, data on education, health, work, living conditions of citizens will be collected, while the results will be ready within a year.

Questions have not changed much from previous editions of censuses, though some questions have been added. In total there will be 39 main questions and 5 questions about living conditions.

The range of questions related to religion has been expanded to reflect different answers regarding religious affiliation.

Due to the pandemic, the census has already been postponed twice. By law, a census is conducted every 10 years. Prior to that, it was held in Armenia in 2001 and 2011.
