Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne considers to include Armenian Genocide history in Ontario School Board curriculum

Toronto, Horizon Weekly – Canadian Armenians from across Toronto gathered in the Armenian Community Center in Toronto to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Among official guests and dignitaries present were Premier of Ontario and Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party Kathleen Wynne and Toronto city Mayor John Tory. After listening to Michael Anthony, a genocide education teacher for the Toronto District School Board, promote the importance of teaching about genocide in schools, Premier Wynne  expressed interest in further hearing and discussing his experiences and reflections teaching the Grade 11 genocide course. Mayor Tory similarly expressed his interest in the benefits of teaching youth about genocide and how it promotes prevention in future.
