Armenia will recognize Artsakh, if military actions continue, President says –

Armradio – As a party to the ceasefire agreements signed in 1994, Armenia will continue to fully meet its commitment of ensuring the security of the people of Nagorno Karabakh, President Serzh Sargsyan said at a meeting with the Ambassadors of the OSCE member states.

President Sargsyan briefed the Ambassadors on the situation along the Nagorno Karabakh line of contact and the adequate ways of its resolution.

The President said he has instructed the Foreign Ministry to work towards signing an “Agreement on Mutually Military Assistance” with Nagorno Karabakh. “I have said on many occasions that Armenia will recognize the independence of Nagorno Karabakh if the large-scale military actions continue. The further intensification of military actions can lead to unpredictable and irreversible consequences, up until large-scale war. This will inevitable affect not only the South Caucasus, but also the European region, as a whole,” President Sargsyan said.
