Davutoglu Calls on U.S. Turks to Fight Against Armenian Diaspora –

NEW YORK (Combined Sources)—Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who has previously stated that the Armenian diaspora is also the diaspora of Turkey, urged Turks living in the U.S. to fight against the Armenian diaspora.

Davutoglu, who is attending the 70th Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, also met with representatives of the Turkish non-governmental organizations in the U.S., according to Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul, Turkey.

At one such meeting, Davutoglu called on those in attendance to fight against the Armenian, Jewish, Greek and several other lobbying groups.

Davutoglu also thanked American Turks for holding April 24 rallies supporting Armenian Genocide denial.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, Davutoglu also met with his Belgian counterpart, Charles Michel.

The resolution the Belgian Parliament adopted on the occasion of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide was reportedly high on their agenda, Ermenihaber.am reports, quoting Turkish TRThaber.com.

According to sources, the Belgian Prime Minister said the bill is of political importance and does not imply any legal consequences.

Davutoglu, in turn, expressed his discontent with sanctions against MPs that voted against the bill, referring to former Belgian deputy Mahinur Ozdemir, who is of Turkish descent and was expelled from the Humanist Democratic Centre for refusing to call the 1915 killing of Ottoman Armenians an act of genocide.

Davutoglu added that they are ready to discuss any issue, including the expelling Ozdemir from his party.
