NKR Military: No Armenian tanks were blown up –

Armenianow – The Defense Ministry of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has denied information reported by Azerbaijani media alleging that two tanks of the NKR Defense Army have been blown up by anti-tank mines. 

“The information disseminated by the Azerbaijani propaganda that two T-72 tanks of the Karabakh Defense Army were allegedly blown up by anti-tank mines during drills does not correspond to the reality. This information should be taken as a fruit of imagination of the Azerbaijani propaganda,” the NKR Defense Ministry’s press service said late on Tuesday.

Some Azerbaijani media reports alleged that members of the crew of one tank were killed on the spot, while the crew of the other tank were taken to hospital in “grave condition”. 

The allegations come amid the continuing visit of international mediators to the region. The American, Russian and French co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group advancing a peaceful settlement for the Karabakh conflict are in another round of shuttle diplomacy to try to arrange a meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan later this year.
