#RootsForRefugees Campaign Reaches 68% Funding Goal With Gift From San Francisco Bay Area Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee

Anonymous Donor Pledges Dollar for Dollar in the Last Stretch

of the Campaign through July 4

Los Angeles, CA, June 26, 2015 — The Armenian Redwood Project (ARP), an innovative non-profit social enterprise alliance that intends to improve the lives and well-being of the thousands of Syrian refugees impacted by the ravaging war in Syria, is excited to announce that its #RootsForRefugees crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.com received a major gift from the San Francisco-Bay Area Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee moving the campaign needle to $20,411 in funds raised which is 68% of the campaign goal of $30,000.

“We thank the San Francisco Bay Area Community for its confidence and their generous support” said Raffy Ardhaldjian, Chief Action Officer of the ARP. “The committee’s leadership will help both the momentum of the campaign & assist in delivering vital assistance to refugees in Armenia”

Encouraged by the progress of the campaign, another generous donor recently pledged a matching gift of up to $5,000 to assist with the last $10,000 of the campaign. Every dollar donated starting today will be matched 1:1 until the campaign reaches its $30,000 goal.

The #RootsForRefugees campaign goal is to raise the remaining $30,000 in funding to complete a $250,000 rent subsidy program initiated by Oxfam Armenia in early February 2015, in partnership with ARP and the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund. The partnership raised $220,000 with funds provided by institutional social investors and has already benefited dozens of families since February. The campaign goal of $30,000 is vital to complete the collective commitment made to help augment the absorptive capacity in Armenia to benefit the influx of refugees and other vulnerable families arriving in Armenia on a weekly basis.

The #RootsForRefugees crowdfunding campaign is an opportunity to come together to make a difference in the lives of these refugee families. Only together, can we make the greatest difference.

We can still create hope, We can help, and We need funding. If you’re  asking yourself what YOU can do to help those seeking refuge, WATCH this video and contribute by going to igg.me/at/rootsforrefugees.
