First Agricultural Cooperative to Launch in Artsakh
STEPANAKERT (Arka)—Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Prime Minister Ara Harutiunian traveled to the town of Chartar, Artsakh, on Thursday to attend a presentation on the community’s first agricultural cooperative.
Welcoming the new cooperative, the premier said that after the privatization of Artsakh’s previously collective farms, the country’s agricultural sector has fallen into decay.
He said that in accordance with the Artsakh President’s program, the Republic’s authorities will promote the process of establishing collective farms in communities.
Harutiunian expressed confidence that the new cooperative will lay groundwork for restoring Chartar’s former agricultural capacity and improve its residents living conditions.
“In addition to agricultural activity, the cooperative will also be involved in food processing, providing its own products to market,” he said.
