YEREVAN (Panorama.am)—“I am proud and happy to have been appointed Ambassador to Armenia,” France’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Jean-François Charpentier, told reporters on Tuesday.

“Armenia is an important country for France, a country with which we have been cooperating for a long time,” said the Ambassador.

Charpentier said that the Armenian-French political dialogue is at the highest level. He added that three French Presidents – Jacques Chirac, Nicolas Sarkozy and Francois Hollande – have visited Armenia.

The envoy stressed that France will maintain this trend and said that French President Francois Hollande will visit Armenia on April 24, 2015, on the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
