Minister Kenney concludes successful trip to Armenia – Meets with Senior Armenian Officials in Yerevan
Jason Kenney, Minister of Employment and Social Development and Minister for Multiculturalism, completed a successful visit to Armenia where he met community, business, & political leaders and promoted trade.
On Monday, July 28th, canadian Minister Jason Kenney arrived in Yerevan accompanied by a large Canadian delegation to promote bilateral trade and regional stability. Upon his arrival, he met with numerous government officials, including the President of Armenia, His Excellency Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the President of the National Assembly Galust Sahakyan, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, and the Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan.
Minister Kenney discussed the ways in which we can strengthen bilateral trade relations and deal with issues such as the ongoing plight of Syrian-Armenian refugees. The Minister also passed on his best wishes on behalf of Canada’s vibrant and hard-working Armenian Diaspora.
During his visit, minister Kenney visited Khor Virap Monastery, The Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, The Armenian Genocide Memorial Monumnet and other historic sites.
