Liverpool target Henrikh Mkhitaryan on potential Anfield switch

LIVERPOOL missed out on signing Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan over the summer, but they could have more luck this time around.

Mkhitaryan opted to sign for Borussia Dortmund, saying: “Liverpool have a great past, but Borussia Dortmund has a great present.”

But the Reds have surprised a lot of people this season, giving them a realistic chance to claim the Premier League while Dortmund are 20 points behind Bayern.

The 25-year-old, who has set up seven and scored nine so far this term, says he is happy in Germany but refused to rule out a switch to Liverpool.

Mkhitaryan said: “Of course I know how much Liverpool wanted me, but what happened, happened.

“I’m now in Dortmund and very happy and proud about it.

“Can I see myself at Liverpool in the future? You know that it doesn’t depend entirely on me. But this is life and everything is possible.”
