European Parliament to Discuss Artsakh Self-Determination
YEREVAN (Armenpress)—The European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy’s director Kaspar Karampetian, speaking to Armenpress, has announced that a conference will take place in the European Parliament in June to discuss the issue of free self-determination for European nations, which will include a discussion about Artsakh.
“The conference will be held in two directions – scientific and political,” Karampetian said. “The European parliamentarians, scientists, experts of the international law will participate.”
Karampetian said that the purpose of such discussions is not only to draw attention to the Nagorno Karabakh issue, but also “to deliver the case to the international community’s perception, that the free self-determination of nations should be paramount.”
The issue of Artsakh will be discussed again in the European Parliament in September, on the occasion of Artsakh’s Independence Day. “In October, the Month of Artsakh will be launched at the European Parliament. This is a traditional event and this is the second time it will take place,” Karampetian said.
